กีฬา "วีลแชร์"ไทยได้ที่ ๒ - ๓ โลก การแข่งขัน Norwich Union London Athletice Grand Prix ๒๐๐๘ ที่ Crystal Palace National Sports Centre ณ เมืองลอนดอน ประเทศอังกฤษ ถือเป็นการแข่งขันกรีฑาของนักกรีฑาจากทั่วโลกเพื่ออุ่นเครื่องก่อนการแข่งขันกีฬาโอลิมปิกเกมส์ และกีฬาพาราลิมปิกเกมส์ ที่จะจัดขึ้นที่เมืองปักกิ่ง ประเทศจีน โดยมีนักกีฬาวีลแชร์เรซซิ่งของไทย คือ ประวัติ วะโฮมรัมย์ และสายชล คนเจน สองนักกีฬาวีลแชร์ทีมชาติไทยดีกรีเจ้าของสถิติโลกการแข่งขันวีลแชร์ผลัด ๔x๑๐๐ เมตร และ ๔x๔๐๐ เมตร จากการแข่งขันพาราลิมปิกเกมส์ ครั้งที่ ๑๒ ที่เมืองเอเธนส์ ประเทศกรีซ ได้รับเชิญเข้าร่วมในการแข่งขันในครั้งนี้ โดยการแข่งขันในครั้งนี้ จะเชิญนักกีฬาวีลแชร์จากทั่วโลก จากการการจัดอันดับ Ranking เวลาในรอบคัดเลือกเข้าสู่พาราลิมปิกเกมส์ที่ดีที่สุด ๘ ท่านเดินทางมาร่วมแข่งขัน โดยมี เดวิด เวียร์ นักกีฬาวีลแชร์เรซซิ่งเจ้าของสถิติโลก ๑๕๐๐ เมตรจากประเทศอังกฤษเข้าร่วมแข่งขันด้วย สำหรับ ประวัติ วะโฮมลัมย์ และสายชล คนเจน ถือได้ว่าเป็นนักกีฬาวีลแชร์เรซซิ่งที่เป็นหนึ่งในความหวังของทัพนักกีฬาคนพิการไทย ที่จะลงสู้ศึกกีฬาพาราลิมปิกเกมส์ ครั้งที่ ๑๓ ที่เมืองปักกิ่ง ประเทศจีน ในระหว่างวันที่ ๖-๑๗ กันยายนศกนี้ โดยประวัติ วะโฮลัมย์ เป็นนักกีฬาวีลแชร์เรซซิ่งประเภทระยะกลาง-ไกล ลงแข่งในพาราลิมปิก ประเภทวีลแชร์ ๔๐๐ ม. ๘๐๐ ม. ๑๕๐๐ ม. ๕๐๐๐ ม. ๔x๑๐๐ ม. ๔x๔๐๐ ม. ส่วนสายชล คนเจน นั้นจะลงแข่งในประเภทการแข่งขันระยะสั้น ๑๐๐ ม. ๒๐๐ ม. ๔๐๐ ม. ๔x๑๐๐ ม. ๔x๔๐๐ ม. โดยในการแข่งขันพาราลิมปิกเกมส์ที่ประเทศจีนในปีนี้ นักกีฬาวีลแชร์ของไทยต้องลงป้องกันแชมป์ในประเภท ผลัด ๔x๑๐๐ ม. และ ๔x๔๐๐ ม.ที่ไทยเป็นเจ้าของเหรียญทอง และเป็นเจ้าของสถิติโลกจากการแข่งขันพาราลิมปิกเกมส์ ครั้งที่ ๑๒ ที่ประเทศกรีซ โดยมีนักกีฬาชุดเดิมที่เคยคว้าเหรียญทองในครั้งที่แล้ว ลงแข่งขันครบทุกคน ประกอบไปด้วย ประวัติ วะโฮลัมย์, สายชล คนเจน, ศุภชัย โกยทรัพย์ และพิเชษฐ์ กรุงเกตุ ซึ่งผลการแข่งขันเมื่อ ๒๕ กรกฎาคมที่ผ่านมานั้น นักกีฬาวีลแชร์ตัวแทนประเทศไทยก็ทำผลงานได้ดี คว้าอันดับ ๒ และ ๓ กลับมาได้ โดยอันดับที่ ๑ เป็นของเดวิด เวียร์ จากประเทศอังกฤษ เวลา ๓.๑๘๑๘ นาที, อันดับที่ ๒ ประวัติ วะโฮลัมย์ ประเทศไทย เวลา ๓.๑๘๔๒ นาที, อันดับที่ ๓ สายชล คนเจน ประเทศไทย เวลา ๓.๑๘๙๖ นาที * * * * * * * * * * * * * พันตรีศิริชัย ทรัพย์ศิริ สมาคมคนพิการทางการเคลื่อนไหวสากล Tel. 02-990-0331 3007512020 | |
